Debut

So here is the first installment of the series Hector and me are doing.
It's so weird to see the characters in full colour!!!
Enjoy!

Changing Places, New Faces

September promises to me a lot of chances at change. Something that I am, of course, looking forward to, after my pathetic existence in the months July and August- which had brought nothing if not boredom(okay, the rare occassion of joy which is mostly outweighed by the times I have felt like I just wanted to crawl into a hole and be forgotten by the world anyway!) and despair.

What exactly does September have to offer me? Well, firstly, my trip to Portugal, which I am so excited about...(I have been trying really hard to save), new neighbours- Yuko is moving from Kent into Southampton Way, which is 5 mins from where I stay, and of course, a new housemate who will take over Jon's place as the other tenant(anyone but him would be nice..thank god!) and hopefully the completion of my comics.

Also, I have been invited to my first free movie screening, by this company called 'Firstmovies.com'....and if I reply soon enough, I should be able to make it!
Wow...see? I'm excited already just thinking of it...

I am in school again....editing more comic strips...
Will upload them once I'm satisfied with the outcome....so watch this space!!! (:

Comic Superhero

In between trying to fix the layout of my blog hopelessly, I am impossibly on Photoshop working on the Muffin Joe & Cupcake Katy comic strip(which Hector and I have been collaborating on) and replying to emails.

The comic is going okay, though some of the strips are not as funny as the others, whereby the others are a more subtle but otherwise usual cynical satirical humour. I am just undecided about the colours, but I'm sure the editing and resizing will take me awhile(they are all done on empty receipt paper from the till, imagine how small they actually are!). We are not churning out as many strips as we would like, but I guess we're sort of going through a dry period and considering this is supposed to be a hobby, we're certainly not rushing it. Plus, me not working during the week only gives me time during the weekends when I do go in...but heck, somedays we're just not feeling it(seems to be having lots of these lately)!

Although, I have achieved more today(I feel), having managed to do some sewing for the cover of my handmade sketch-book, which with the guidence of dear Cassie(she studies BA Bookarts) I have more or less come to completion. The cover turned out kind of horrid(thank god I haven't stuck it down yet)...so while I'm wrecking my brains with my comics, I am also thinking of a way to resolve my little aesthetic book problems. I might just chuck it and make a new cover before I stick it on...hmm....decisions, decisions, decisions!

Revamp!

I am very stupid, I feel...(don't anyone DARE agree!), but I decided to change the outlook of my dear blog, after so long,...for an updated 'look'...but alas...I don't know much about the whole settings and codes shit...hence, the bad layout and spacing of my tagboard (which I lost in the first few minutes and spent half an hour figuring out how to put it back in)...now my comments for each entry is gone and I'm past bothering...enough of an acheivement for now. Plus, somehow now my Imood seems to be missing something...I have struggled enough..time for backup...WAN!?!?!!!! HELPPPPPP!!!!! ):

My Black & White World

Just finished the 'Everlasting Story of Nory'...written in the same dark humour as 'The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night', but I picked up the book for the obvious resemblence of my own name...though it has since made it to my list of top favourite books!

I spent sometime last week taking photos for Mr P. They turned out pretty good, and after much goofing around, we ended up with shitloads of shots, but this has to be my favourite(he of course, doesn't agree). Well, that was the end of my shortlived photography career, then!

Farties

This is a very much delayed blog. Though nothing exciting has happened since I last wrote an entry,I just thought I ought to give my fingers some much needed exercise. Also, I need to get my brain working- too much reading, and not enough writing on my part.

The highlight of my entry- all about farting. This is purely inspired since a weekend ago, when people kept farting in the entrance of the shop( and I mean, NEAR, before the make it OUT of the shop...) and you would think they would have the decency to hold it in for about 30cm to the door!!! It was one of those days where there was more ass-pollution than usual. I'm sure some of the people paying at the till, the boy with man-boobs, and some other suspicious characters just let rip...not considering the slow painful death (also, the damage done to our respitory systems) that we poor shop assistants have to endure. Badly enough, in the heat, the shop is especially STUFFY with very little ventilation inside.

In tribute to all the farties out there, I have compiled the worst possible places to get caught with nowhere to run:

1. The lift : The smallest possible non-escapable confined space - highest chance of passing out if you're the unlucky victim.
2. A small shop : Not enough ventilation, as of the abovementioned.
3. When sitting next to someone : You can't be rude, so you just take a deep breath and hold it...or not!
4. In the bus : Whether air-conditioned or not, the air in the bus circulates around...you get my drift.
5. The toilet : Although it already smells pretty stale, the addition of an atomic fart is nonetheless unwelcome.
6. When asleep next to someone : No, fanning the duvet and sharing the joy isn't funny.

So, next time you encounter a fartie, or have to have to fart....lets try to at least be courteous about it - and eat less bread, goddammit!!!
