I must really apologise for being very neglective of this space. But I'll try to recall the very exciting moments as detailed as possible, so I don't miss out on anything. So here goes: This is the first one.

Quick Flashback: Premiere of 'In Her Shoes'
Date of event: 17 Nov 2005

I went shopping-mad (hehe...) for this event. The dress code was-glamorous shoes...so..I searched the whole of the high street (with Luisa in tow), for the perfect pair AND outfit. It was very frustrating, coz the ones I liked, didn't exist in my size. I hate having such small feet!!!!!

Anyway, I managed to settle on a pair of Faith shoes, very classic black and pretty, but come the day of the big do itself, I decided to opt for comfort instead. I mean, why splash out on a pair of £50 shoes(which I later returned for a refund), if they don't even fit right?!! So I went for the smart-casual look(nothing snazzy), with my ever-dependable burgandy pointed-maryjane-kitten heel, with fitting Levis and a nice shirt Misao lent me. Kept the make-up very simple, tied up my hair, and accessorised with my sis' old pearl and chain necklace. Vintage stuff, ok?! To finish off, the shoes matched my velvet vintage Dior jacket perfectly.

Mr P. was my escort, smart in almost the same ensemble, black fitted shirt, jeans, black shoes. I would like to think that we looked snazzy, but not overdone. Heee...

When we got to Leicester Square, there were loads of people waiting for the celebs to come, and unfortunately, very nerve-wreckingly, the only way in, was to go on the red carpet! Gosh, I was shaking like a leaf inside, I was a wreck! Mr P. tried to stop me from blazing through, but to no avail! When we finally got in, everyone else was dressed so glamourously, which, I felt was not really a need(god, I'm so practical, aren't I?)- you can tell that they got their hair and make-up done, got a new dress...etc. A little too much, we thought. Plus, after some time, we decided that it was turning out to be too much of a 'Oh,look at me, aren't I fabulous?!!'. Which, to us, most of them looked pretentious and idiotic....just to watch a film?!!

The film was okay, got a packet of Maltesers and a drink,....well, it was better than we thought. Afterwards, we headed out (after some confusion) to find the way to the hotel ballroom where the reception and afterparty was held. The place was definately posh, if I can recall it later, I will add it in. We were served canapes and there were waiters and waitresses coming around with food and wine every five minutes, while the Breast Cancer Charity auction for celebrities' shoes was going on. Alas, not feeling very in place, we left earlier (after he's already stowed away a couple of beers) and was handed goodie bags (which included:an EE Cummings poem from the movie, lip gloss, In Her Shoes-the book, vouchers from Nine West, FCUK body lotion...etc) at the door.

A very once-in-a-lifetime experience for me, I must say!

Me trying to take a picture of myself, not very successful, but the one we took together in the ballroom didn't come out clear,so this had to do.
